Dean Martin wasn’t kidding around when crooned about the beauty of Capri. A lush island off the coast of Italy, this Mediterranean gem is filled with hidden coves, rocky shorelines, and authentic collaborations of Italian food, wine, and atmosphere.
When you book your Capri flight, you’ll be just three miles from the tip of the Sorrentine Peninsula. The location is remote enough to feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, but close enough to the mainland to know you’re getting the real thing. Whitewashed homes and majestic villas dot the shoreline, as lemon trees sprout up all over narrow lands, and flowers fill the many courtyards.
No matter where you are on the island, the views range from magnificent to spectacular and the surrounding seascapes create a romantic and relaxing background that truly intoxicates. Since most vacationers book flights to Capri between Easter and the end of October, the island can tend to feel overrun in the summer time, but somehow, the crowds are never too much to handle, and it always truly feels like you’ve escaped the world and found a secret getaway. Capri Hollywood Film Festival: As if movie star royalty needs another reason to book flights to Capri other than its rapture and exquisiteness, the Capri in the World Institute hosts the Capri Hollywood Film Festival every December. This over-the-top, high-ranking event is an annual nod to Italy’s greatest film classics. At the festival, directors, producers, and actors speak of the key figures in the international film scene, and the future of filmmaking in general. A-listers like Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Vanessa Redgrave, Faye Dunaway, Mira Sorvino, and Geoffrey Rush have all attended. The recipe for the tasty liqueur, made official by the Canalis in 1989, was sent all over the world and well received by cocktailers everywhere.
