With a climate that sees 300 days of sunshine a year, San Luis Obispo has extremely mild weather that never gets too warm or too cold. The months of June and July usually see a large influx of tourists into the city making local accommodation scarce and pricey. Visitors to the city are attracted by San Luis Obispo’s summer wine festival in mid-June and the dry climate which encourages outdoor exploration. Between June and August the city experiences very little rainfall, temperatures are never uncomfortable and the humidity levels are modest. The wettest time of the year is the rainy season of December through March, but even then days of sunshine are quite common. Generally more cloudy and cool, San Luis Obispo is still very inviting throughout these months. With pleasant weather all year round, the city is an ideal location for outdoor adventures of all kinds. Throughout the year visitors can play a round at one of the local golf courses, spend the afternoon enjoying one of the many local beaches and experience one of the many outstanding restaurants that San Luis Obispo has to offer.

We paid $161 for two exit row seats thinking there’d be extra leg room and not be cramped! The price we paid was a rip-off for these seats and the plane was extremely narrow and cramped. The male crew were okay but not super-friendly. When we picked up our luggage at baggage claim, someone ripped my luggage with a knife or blunt object and destroyed it!! I will be filling a claim for this and took pictures. I heard great reviews about this airline but am disappointed.

A city in the Central Coast region of California, San Luis Obispo is nestled half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The small college city is renowned for its carefully preserved and thriving 19th-century center, a flourishing art gallery scene, and a burgeoning wine producing reputation. San Luis Obispo and its surrounding areas boast extraordinary resources for outdoor activities, including hiking, mountain biking, sea kayaking and surfing. Every Thursday evening San Luis Obispo plays host to one of California’s most celebrated farmers markets. Local farmers rub shoulders with college students and eager tourists, all hoping to experience the city’s eclectic culinary delights. For a dose of history, visitors should see the birthplace of the serene city, the beautiful Mission San Luis Obispo. The building, which is one of California’s oldest Catholic Missions is still an active parish, and is home to a charming museum. Children will also revel in the many fun activities the city has to offer, including the Children’s Museum and Morro Bay Aquarium. For a look at the lighter side of San Luis Obispo visit the eccentrically decorated Madonna Inn, where nothing is consistent apart from the abundance of pink in the outrageous decor.
In San Luis Obispo itself there is a regional bus system that offers a regular service until late night on weekdays (6PM on the weekends) to most points of interest in the downtown.
San Luis Obispo has a small airport that offers routes to and from San Francisco, Los Angeles and Phoenix. San Luis Obispo Regional Airport (SBP) is located just south of the city and can be easily accessed by taxi or shuttle bus. If you would prefer to rent a car to explore the San Luis Obispo area, all the major car rental firms can be found inside the terminal building.
